Amidst COVID-19 pandemic: Only 2,843 of 74,127 inmates freed in 3 months

The 2,843 inmates so far released by the federal and some state governments is not enough to decongest custodial centres in the country, experts told the Daily Trust on Sunday. Authorities said there were 74, 127 inmates in the 244 custodial centres in the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
